Leslie Hughes, Certified Advanced Rolf® Practitioner, Neuromuscular and Massage Therapist is a 1985 graduate of the Boulder School of Massage Therapy and 2001 graduate of the Rolf Institute. She became Nationally Certified by the National Certification Board of Massage Therapy and Bodywork in 1994.
Leslie has previously served as the director of the Colorado Sports Massage Team, is a past member of the AMTA National Awards Committee, and has served as Eligibility Committee Chair and served as Board Member for the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, she has also participated as a task force member in the development of the National Certification Boards' Job Task Analysis and Content Outline.
She specializes in Rolfing® connective tissue manipulation and structural and movement integration, St. John neuromuscular and trigger point therapy, deep tissue, and sports massage, testing onto the National Sports Massage Team in 1995. Leslie received her certification in neuromuscular therapy in 1987 and has pursued additional training in craniosacral therapy and visceral manipulation. She also has training to work with fibromyalgia, whiplash, and the assessment and treatment of ligaments. Over her eighteen years in practice Leslie has provided collaborative care with physicians, physical therapists, chiropractors and counselors.
Leslie's clientele consists primarily of individuals with chronic soft tissue pain, soft tissue pain resulting from acute injury, clients with chronic postural imbalances and clients interested in achieving peak performance in their specific sports and activities.
Leslie is an active business person in her community and received the American Business Woman's Association's Colorado Woman of Distinction Award in 1997, and was selected as the Grand Junction Chapter Business Woman of the Year award in 1993. She has provided her therapy skills to the British Olympic team at the 1996 summer games, and to the 2002 Winter Sports Massage Team in Salt Lake City working with Olympic and Paralympic athletes. Leslie was also selected to provide therapy to athetes at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece. He was selected to be a member of the aquatic center medical team, providing sports massage to swimmers, divers, water polo and synchronized swimmers.
